Senior Software Engineer (Embedded).

We are seeking a senior software engineer to work on a key embedded software component. The work entails writing real-time software for embedded devices with 32-bit microcontrollers (including x86-based systems) using C, C++ assembler, and other appropriate languages, configuring and customising real-time operating systems, and integrating pre-existing proprietary and open-source modules for graphics, video, and networking. The ideal candidate will have relevant experience with real-time Linux on 'bare metal' devices and have a good knowledge of graphics, video and web technologies. The position reports directly to the CTO. Salary up to £55k, with access to the company's share option scheme.

The candidate must have a PhD, masters or good BEng or BSc in computer science, computer engineering, or similar. Must be willing to relocate to work at company's HQ in Sheffield or alternatively to work from a home office (high quality broadband will be necessary).

The candidate must be comfortable with pair programming, be self-motivated and able to produce high-quality work within a professional framework of formal requirements and specifications.
